Ulduar 10 players: Health nerf.

Hello Community,

As the current level of difficulty from Ulduar is quite high and may be too challenging nowadays; many players have suggested us to perform a small nerf to the 10 players mode during the last few months, we have decided to do so and reduce the health pool from the encounters.

We think that the level of challenge that Ulduar has offered for such a long time was essential, but we also understand that the difficulty may interfere with many of the current players/groups progressing through the tiers.

Therefore, the next Friday 6th of December, with the maintenance that shall welcome the Weekly Battleground Tournament: the HP from Ulduar 10 players mode bosses will be reduced to a more manageable amount.

Thank you and enjoy it!

Survey info: Algalon will stay as it is.

Hello Citizens of Dalaran,

We are quite impressed with the Second Era idea’s reception; we have seen a lot of support and we’ve received really good feedback about this new system. Plenty of you have seen the potential of this idea and the effort we have invested in it and, even many of those who don’t want it to happen on Algalon have given us some nice observations while showing pleasantness towards the concept itself.

However, as we did state previously, for this idea to become a reality on Algalon we would need the vast majority to vote in favor; after some thorough analysis, we could say that the 58% of the players wanted it to happen on Algalon and the 42% didn’t. Therefore, as there is an important amount of players who don’t want it: the Second Era is canceled and will not go live on Algalon. We knew this was a possible outcome so, we did plan what steps would follow in order to improve Algalon if the community decided to keep it as it is.

There was a common request that has been done by many players: the opening of a new realm with this Second Era / Soft Reset concept applied since the beginning and transfers from Algalon; We are going to study very deeply this possibility and we will keep you posted about it.

In the meanwhile, we are working to improve several aspects from Algalon:
– PvP revamp: We have thought some ideas about hosting weekly Battleground Tournaments and we are currently working on their implementation, rewards and a new website section for it. PvP moderators will also perform a thorough monitoring and win-trading proper punishment.
– PvE/Class fixes prepared for the Second Era are going to be slowly deployed to Algalon.
– Although Algalon will stay as it is, the advertisement campaigns we did prepare for the Second Era will be adapted and launched, including the “resurrect an old friend” (scroll of resurrection like system), which will help to spread the word and keeping the flow of new and old players.

We will keep you posted about all that is to come; our next announcement will be regarding the Weekly Battleground Tournaments.

Thank you very much.

Second Era: Information.

ask_header

Hello Citizens of Dalaran and beyond.

We are glad to finally present to you our Second Era’s idea. Its main goal is to provide once again the thrill to progress through the WoTLK content and jump directly into the action while keeping your characters’ hard work and efforts but without interfering with the fresh progression feeling. In this presentation, you are going to find a lot of different information: where the idea comes from, why are we offering it, how the system would work, timeline…etc.

We would also like to emphasize the fact that, you are the ones who will decide if this Second Era takes place or not. This is the idea we’ve been working on before presenting it to the community, now is the time to see if you want for it to happen. We need your opinions before reaching a conclusion, therefore, after reading it you will be able to fill a small survey. There is a small chance to win a symbolic reward upon the Survey’s completion.

Additionally, we are working on a “Scroll of resurrection like” feature, which will allow you to recruit an inactive player for this Second Era and there will be some nice rewards waiting for you both, we will post more information about this shortly.

Our project idea is clear, it has always been; we want to offer the best WoTLK experience we can. That also implies taking into account your characters’ value, effort and time. We believe you deserve the time and the work we have invested in creating a long-term solution. Our first thought is always our community, we are nothing without you.

Thank you for taking the time to read the presentation, and thank you for your participation in the Survey beforehand.

Approaching the Second Era.

Hello Citizens of Dalaran,

A few months ago we gave you some strokes of information about the upcoming Second Era of Progression. We also gave you the opportunity to fill a survey in order to see your opinions about us performing a possible “Raid and PvP Soft reset”, emulating once again a Fresh WoTLK progression, without players losing anything.

As a quick reminder and briefly explained; we believe we have found a middle ground that should please old, current, returning and new players. It is a totally new system never seen before, so we want to make sure that everything is crystal clear and there is no room for doubts. Therefore, we are going to post a new, as well as open a new section on our website specifically dedicated to this Second Era during early October, where everything will be clearly explained. You will also be able to fill a very small survey after you read it, this way we will be able to see the overall reception of such idea.

After much consideration, we think it will bring the feeling of competition directly into the raiding scene and freshen the air for everyone, while emulating a fresh realm but, without erasing our player’s effort (remember, no one would loose items, achievements, pets, mounts, levels…etc).

We have been developing this idea for a long time (we explained its essence a few years ago), and we are really confident it will set a new path into the world we already know. We will be offering a new direction for the WotLK realms, as we did with the Progressive release/system, Pre-nerf mechanics, buffed up encounters, challenging content…etc. Making our ideals the WoTLK standard.

As we announced 6 years ago right before Algalon’s release, we wanted to always keep the Progressive content relevant and challenging. It is absolutely wonderful to look back, we feel really proud and full of nostalgia. Watching our Algalon’s video Trailer brings up many good memories of this beautiful journey. Now is the moment to proceed with the next step and, with the information we are going to announce we will explain how everyone will be able to benefit from this Second Era, no matter if old, current, returning or new player.

We would also like to share a reflexion about the previous Survey’s results. It looks like our community liked both The Soft Reset and the new realm similarly and there is a small fraction that wishes to keep everything as it is right now. We think that after the Second Era’s full explanation is released in early October, many players that preferred a new realm or to keep everything as it is may be pleased with the Soft Reset’s option (as it emulates a fresh raiding / PvP scene while honouring every player’s effort until now). This is why a small survey will also be available, so every one of you can tell us if you like it after fully knowing how this actually would work. Please, remember that no step will be done without our community’s approval.

We have ready the First Beta test for this second Era of Progression. It will basically consist into checking the mechanic quality from the first tiers (with the new improvements), buff values, and the functionality of some general systems we have been working on to support the Second Era.

As we have always been doing, the groups that have access by default to our Betas are the ones who participated in the last PvE Tournament. However, after such a long journey and since this is a very emotional moment, we would also like to offer the possibility to participate as special guests in The Second Era’s Betas to old Guilds, old Realm First players…etc. Of course, if a current guild wishes also partake, will be more than welcome. Anyhow, more information about Betas will be published after the upcoming announcement.

Thank you everyone for your support, we hope you enjoy what comes next!

The PvE Tournament has begun!

Hello there!

The Legendary PvE Tournament has begun already!

We are really excited and happy to see so many players interested in, remember that you and your group are still on time to register for this Tournament.

The raids can be done in any order you prefer, all in the same ID or keep repeating them until you get better results (you can even do all of the tasks the last Tournament’s week).

In order to sign up, you just have to write an email to dalaran.community@gmail.com with the subject: Legendary PvE Tournament – your group name. We will take it from there.

Take a look at the Rules, guidelines and rewards here: and here.

For this tournament, you can select one of 2 possible paths; complete a set of task per raid as specified here and here or open a RNG Box that will randomly generate 6 tasks as you can see here.

We are looking forward to seeing those videos! and we really hope you enjoy the Tournament, good luck!

PvE Tournament: Guidelines and Rewards.

Hello Citizens of Dalaran,

We are glad to announce that we will be hosting our PvE Tournament from the 9th to the 30th of August. You will have 3 weeks to complete all the challenges we propose.

This tournament will require to perform different tasks through every WoTLK Tier starting from the Tier 7. It will be divided in 2 stages: First one will cover Tier 7 and Tier 8, while the second one will cover the Tier 9 and Tier 10.

At first, we designed a complex Tournament system with many branches, choices…etc. However, after giving it a lot of thought and perform many tests we came to the conclusion that it could be a bit confusing or overwhelming, as well as hard to recreate in a real raiding environment. That’s why we have decided to merge ideas and simplify them while offering only 2 possible paths or choices for each Tier: Achievement Run or RNG Box. Every group will have too choose a path for each Tier as they like (E.g: RNG Box for Naxxramas, Achievement Run for Ulduar, RNG Box for ToC and RNG Box for ICC).

Let us explain individually in what consists each path:

ACHIEVEMENT RUN:.
A selection of Feats to do proposed by us, we will fish out some of our favourites from the past but we will also be adding new ones that are ideated to be challenging and fun. This way new participants can have a dash of joy (and pain) from our previous tournaments.

The full and definitive achievement list with their corresponding points will be published a week before the Tournament starts.

If anyone wants to see of the old ones, you can take a look here:

Score:
– Points are earned upon the completion of those feats.
– This path will allow a group to accumulate a slightly higher amount of total points than the RNG Box’s path.
– There will be an extra bonification if at least the 30% of the group gets attuned in the run.

RNG BOX:.
If a group chooses this option for a certain Tier, they will be have to “open” a RNG Box the same day the Stage starts. The content of this box will be a totally random set of different challenges that need to be accomplished during such raid, this will make each group to have a unique set of tasks to do. Some tasks will make a run quite bearable and easy, while some others may increase the difficulty noticeably. Although several are just for fun…

Here are just a few mere examples about what may be inside the RNG box:

– Everyone needs to be barefoot during the whole raid.
– You may have an invisible and helpfull GM within your raid (or the opposite, you may have trickster GM who will make you suffer while fighting bosses…).
– The group needs to shrink the evilness from bosses (both mentally and physically).
– You receive a constant punishment for that raid (e.g: one player needs to die when the encounter starts and remain in that way until it ends, or one member from the group has to be the last man standing every encounter).
– There needs to be a pirate race between bosses.

All the possible options for the Naxxramas and Ulduar RNG Boxes will be published altogether with the full achievement list (including point distribution and details), which is a week before the Tournament starts. In the other hand, ToC’s and ICC’s RNG Boxes possible content will be revealed halfway during the Tournament, before the Stage 2 starts. The entire list will be quite big, however once a group “opens” the box, a small set of tasks from such list will be randomly generated for them.

Additionally, each RNG Box will have a chance to drop extra rewards and small amount of bonification points.

Score:
– Also in this case, points are earned upon the completion of those tasks.
– This path will allow a group to accumulate a slightly lower amount of total points than the Achievement Run, but remember that there is a chance to receive a small amount of bonification points when the RNG Box is opened.
– There will be an extra bonification if at least the 30% of the group gets attuned in this run.

In the case there is a tie, we will set a Speed Run between the groups and the winner of the race will be the winner for that tier.

Therefore, the Legendary PvE Tournament will be divided in 2 stages:
Stage 1

Stage 2

REWARDS:
Participants:

Stage 1 Winner:

Stage 2 Winner:

Tournament Winner:

We want to offer every kind of group the chance to enjoy a proper challenge, or even just have some fun altogether while earning some nice rewards, you can choose your own path.

DATES: We will be hosting our PvE Tournament from the 9th to the 30th of August, it will cover 3 possible Raid IDs.

HOW TO REGISTER:
As of today your group can apply for The Legendary PvE Tournament by following these steps:
1) Consult with your guildmates before applying, motivate them, organize the roster and decide who will record the runs.
2) Decide in which mode you want to participate – 10 man and/or 25 man.
3) Send an e-mail to: dalaran.community@gmail.com with the subject: Legendary PvE Tournament – your group name.
4) You don’t need to choose right now which path your group will do, we will ask you about it by mail once we’ve revealed the achievement list and the RNG Box full content.
We will contact you if we need anything extra from you.

F.A.Q:
Can we participate without a video recorder?
– This is unfortunately impossible, we need it to be streamed/recorded. Videos need to be uploaded to Youtube and the links sent to us.
What platforms can we use to publish the video?
– This time, only Youtube will be allowed.
Can a group participate if not all participants are from the same guild?
– Yes it can, there can be Picked up Groups. But their members will not be able to participate with their own guild as well for the entire duration of the Tournament.
– You have to decide the name of your group and specify it in the application in the Guild name slot as Pug Group. Example: PUG group: The archmages with arthritis.
What do we need to do to be considered at least “Participant” and earn the rewards?
– If the majority of the group is already attuned and raiding ICC, you need to participate on every Tier to be considered participants (hence, receive the corresponding rewards). However, if your group is currently still progressing through the content (for example, in Ulduar), and wishes to participate only in Naxxramas and Ulduar, you are perfectly able to do so – you will be considered participant and earn the rewards. Do not hesitate to write us an e-mail and ask if you have any question, please.
Can my guild/group participate in 10 and 25 man?
– Yes, but you only can participate in each mode once.
Can I participate with different PuG groups or guilds on several stages or challenges from the same tier?
– Not with the same character, if you choose one group or guild, you will be able to only participate with them during the whole Tournament correspondant to the current tier. However, you can participate with one character with your guild, and use an alter to join a pug group, for example. This way you will be allowed to receive the rewards with both of them even if they belong to the same account. There is no limit on how many groups you may join but remember, you must use different characters.

We really hope everyone enjoys this PvE Tournament.

We would also like to take advantage of this new, to let you know that we are celebrating our 6th Anniversary soon, stay tunned!
