Onyxia’s Lair Beta test.

onyxias_lair_header

Hello Citizens of Dalaran,

We are glad to announce that Onyxia’s Lair Beta test will be done the Saturday April 23rd. The PTR realm will be opened from 18:00 until 03:00, Server Time.

We do not expect any major issue to appear during this test so, the official release date should be announced the day right after the Beta is finished. With the Onyxia’s Lair official release announcement, we shall also set a timeframe for the Icecrown Citadel’s Beta.

We will need the players to test every mechanic from this encounter and report any issue that they may find, so we can hotfix it as fast as we can.

As for who is invited to this Onyxia’s Lair test – if your guild has participated on any of our Betas, you are implicitly invited to come and check Onyxia. However, if you did not but your guild is actively raiding, you can also write us and apply for it (explain why your guild should be considered, tell us your guild’s current progression, etc.).

Every guild who wishes to participate, should select a representative and he/she must write us an e-mail to dalaran.community@gmail.com with the following format:

Subject: GUILD NAME – Onyxia’s Lair Beta test.
Content: Which difficulties you are going to test (you can check only 10 players mode, only 25 players mode or even both of them) and a list of players who will assist (alts and replacements can be added).

Information about how to connect and more related details will be explained through the e-mails some days before the given date.

Thank you very much, we really hope you enjoy it.

Back on track

Hello, citizens of Dalaran.

Now that the Holiday season has finished, we would like to update you a bit.

We will close the Game Master’s application, thank you once again for the massive participation and interest to volunteer with us as Game Masters, it will really help us to improve the assistance and the home feeling for every player. A response to everyone shall be delivered whether they are accepted or not. Those who have already been accepted and contacted will receive another e-mail with additional information.

Once the new Game Masters join the team, we will open some recruitment slots for Developers, it will be announced also through the website, with more details regarding such position and the requisites needed to fulfill.

If everything goes as we have planned we would be able to set a date for the Onyxia’s Lair Beta Test really soon, Lothloryen has to make space in his schedule in order to hotfix and assist to the different raid groups with the possible issues that may appear. So, we will announce it as soon as we know it.

Also, we would like to communicate that we are working on several patches with fixes that will be deployed before Onyxia’s Lair release, they will be mostly corrections of old reports, in order to clear out the Bugtracker. Of course, the classes are already being improved and we will continue doing so. Remember that you can update any issue already reported with more information as a comment, try to be as much descriptive as you can if you want to include more details. As we have stated many times, after the raids releases we would improve other aspects of the game experience, such quests, events, low level dungeons, spells, etc…

As a side note, since the pet Baby Blizzard Bear did not get the attention we thought it would, we will let it in our shops the whole month. This way everyone will have the chance to get this furry friend.

The Community Manager from our Social Media will be back on track too after the New Year holidays, and the media support will also be a way to stay tuned to the latest news, information and contact with the community in general. Did you already liked our Facebook page, followed us on Twitter, and subscribed in our YouTube channel or Reddit? Don’t miss it out.

Cheers!

Second Trial of the Crusader Beta test.

first new

Hello Citizens of Dalaran,

After these days working on several issues reported by our Trial of the Crusader Beta testers, I have fixed most of them already. I would like to perform a second test this Monday at 19:00 Server Time. I want to be sure that the fixes are indeed working on a real player raid environment and for that I need some help once again.

This test will be much more specific and quick so, with one or two groups would be more than enough, even though all of them are welcome to come back and test it again. If anyone interested has any inconvenience with the date, write me via e-mail and I will see what I can do.

To be clear regarding the release, I will announce the exact official date right after ToC is ready and with at least one week in advance so everyone can be prepared. If the issues I have been working on result indeed properly fixed on this second test, I will announce the release day this next Tuesday.

As a side note, we have received some questions regarding the Beta participation requirements – do not worry, we will post the requirements to assist to the next ones with time enough in advance, which are Onyxia’s Lair and The Icecrown Citadel (ICC will require a huge testing with many sessions so we would like to have as many groups as possible checking every single detail, this epic raid deserves to be perfectly scripted – and it will be).

For those who wrote me reporting some general issues: Once this new content patch is released; low level dungeons, Northrend questing and classes will have lots of improvements. Hopefully the new website will be up then and you can track every change trough the changelog instead of the bug tracker.

Thank you everyone for your support and help, we really wish every single player is able to enjoy our next content release.

About yesterday’s Beta

Hello there,

First of all, I would like to express my gratitude to every player who has invested his time into this testing, I really do appreciate it. The experience has been pretty useful and encouraging.

I am still waiting for two reports, but I did receive the feedback from most of the groups as they were progressing through the raid. There were found some minor glitches which I already have been correcting, so it is now in a very good shape.

I am currently working on two issues which I expect to fix without much troubles so, once I get the rest of the reports and analyze them – I will announce the official Trial of the Crusader release date.

If for some reason I need help with some quick tests more, I will write the Beta testers via e-mail. But I believe this will not be necessary, however I will require few 5 player groups to perform the final checks of the Trial of the Champion dungeon once the raid is ready, you will hear from me through the e-mail.

Thank you very much for reading.

Trial of the Crusader Beta test

Hello citizens of Dalaran,

Finally, I can set a date for the Trial of the Crusader’s Beta where I can dedicate all my time to those players who are going to participate – which is the Friday, October 2nd. So, as I expect, if no major issues appear during the testing, Trial of the Crusader’s official release would be the weekend after.

We have received some suggestions as for the Beta, and based on my previous experiences I would say they are right. This time the time to access will be limited and there shall be a list with some specific tasks to do when testing. So, I would suggest you stay organised and focused on such tasks. The Beta testers are invited to help us to check those things on a real player raid environment that can not be checked properly while the content is still being developed, in order to to deploy the encounters to the live server as polished as possible. The instructions and details about how to connect and how to proceed are going to be sent via e-mail to each group or guild.

There will be also an e-mail group, like Ulduar one, so we can be in constant communication altogether, even outside the game. I will be updating with the corrections if there is something to be correct, as well as with other relevant things.

Remember, the next content patch’s release shall include Trial of the Crusader raid (every mode and difficulty), the new 5 man dungeon (both modes), Koralon from Vault of Archavon along with the new tier set, vendors, emblems and the start of the new PvP Season. Onyxia’s Lair shall be released a bit later, most likely between 1 and 2 months after the ToC’s official opening, with all that it implies – the remaining parts of the legendary chain quest. Since it will be an extraordinary event, we will announce it with time enough so the players can prepare themselves and compete for the legendary mount.

The duration of this patch will be much shorter than the previous tiers, being Icecrown Citadel and its dungeons released in few months.

There shall be another Beta test for Onyxia’s Lair, the requirements to assist are still pending to be decided.

Thank you very much.

A few words.

Hello Citizens of Dalaran,

I would like to give you a small update regarding the current progression point and situation. As many of you are aware, we have had to attend to several unexpected issues over the last few months, which has, of course, slowed my work on the new content release quite considerably. I can imagine some of you have noticed these disturbances and that my attention was required.

Nonetheless, I am quite pleased with the state of TOC and I think it is ready for a good session of beta testing. I would like to open the PTR in 2-3 weeks, as I am currently finishing my work and trying to set a concrete timeframe for the Beta (until then, the beta testing date is not official). I need to have everything prepared, because once the Beta is open, I will need to be fully focused and ready to fix any issue that may crop up, as well as stay in constant contact with the Beta testers. The official release of TOC will be one week after the Beta is finished (if no major issue appears).

There is also a topic I would like to mention, which is the last week’s server unstability – it has nothing to do with us, our host company has been experiencing some issues with their network sessions and many hosts have been affected randomly, for several days at a time. They are already aware of the issue and working on it so it should not persist. If it continues, however, we are going to move our realms to another host provider – the effects on player experience should be minimal.

Anyways, there is a matter I believe has been managed poorly from my side, which is the lack of communication. Some players have mentioned it to me and they are indeed right. I should have kept the community more updated with current events – I would like to make an apology for that, I have been very overloaded, trying to manage many tasks at the same time and I may have underestimated the importance of keeping you, the players in the loop.

From now on, communication is one of the things we are going to work on most and try keep our community properly updated.

There have been some issues with the Tournament’s results and videos. I have sent an e-mail to every group leader and am currently awaiting response from some of them. Once we get all the required information we will distribute the points. We will try to at least partially compensate you for the delay and will add an extra reward to every tournament participant.

Thank you for reading everyone.

Recovering the planned schedule:

ask_header

Greetings,

The major instability issues that have been occurring over the past few weeks seem to have been corrected and we can return to our planned schedule. That means that some of the fixes that were reverted during the daily maintenances will be re-deployed and we can continue improving the server.

We are also working on several things that will help us keep you notified more easily regarding the updates and new content in the months to come.

In regard to Legends of Dalaran Tournament: Ulduar rewards and the Beta ToC invitations, please stay tuned – we will publish the results and grant the rewards, as well as contact you via the email addresses provided before announcing the final date.

Unfortunately, the unexpected issues made the last few weeks quite chaotic for us. As you may know, we are a small team and much of the planned work had to be postponed to identify and root out the problem. We offer our sincere gratitude for the patience, support and trust you have shown us – it has certainly helped us work harder and get it done faster. With work back on schedule, the rest of the announcements and fixes will come during the following days.

Thank you again.
