Icecrown Citadel ID sharing system.

Hello community,

With this announcement we want to clarify any possible doubts that may arise with the new ID sharing system that will be present for the Icecrown Citadel raid.

The IDs will be the same for 10 Normal and 10 Heroic modes, this will also happen for 25 Normal and 25 Heroic. So, for example, if you kill a boss in 10 Normal it will not be possible to kill that boss on its Heroic version the same week.

As you probably know, in order to access The Lich King encounter you will have to defeat 3 bosses first during the same lockout: Professor Putricide, Blood-Queen Lana’thel and Sindragosa.

The weekly quests inside the raid will also be shared between 10 Normal and 10 Heroic, the same will happen for 25 Normal and 25 Heroic.

Remember that even if the raid is switched to Heroic mode by the leader, every player will still need to have the proper attunement in order to enter, as explained in our last new.

Some quick clarifications:

– Icecrown Citadel 10 Normal and Icecrown Citadel 10 Heroic will have the same ID. If you kill a boss in one mode it will not be possible to kill him in the other. The same will happen for 25 Normal and 25 Heroic.
– If you switch between Normal and Heroic difficulties, all the raid members will need the proper attunement in order to enter into the raid.
– In order to have the possibility to engage The Lich King Heroic: Professor Putricide, Blood-Queen Lana’thel and Sindragosa have to be defeated also on their Heroic version.
– You will have 25 attempts each week to defeat all the ICC bosses in Heroic mode. Each wipe on Professor Putricide, Blood-Queen Lana’thel, Sindragosa and The Lich King shall remove one of the available attempts.
– If you reach 0 attempts in Heroic: Professor Putricide, Blood-Queen Lana’thel, Sindragosa and The Lich King will stop being available this week in this difficulty.
– If you reach 0 attempts in Heroic and switch to Normal mode, you will still have the possibility to kill those bosses who were not killed already.

Some random situations, as examples:

A) Your raid kills Professor Putricide in Normal mode and the rest of the bosses in Heroic mode: The Lich King Heroic will not be possible to engage, you will have to fight him in Normal mode. It will be the same outcome if just one of the required bosses is killed in Normal.

B) Your raid kills all the bosses in Heroic mode, but reaches 0 attempts during the Lich King Heroic encounter: you will not be able to continue with The Lich King Heroic. However, you will still have the possibility to defeat him if you switch to Normal.

C) Your raid kills Professor Putricide in Normal, Blood-Queen Lana’thel in Heroic and reaches 0 attempts while fighting Sindragosa in Heroic. You can switch to Normal mode and defeat Sindragosa, and then continue with The Lich King. But, Professor Putricide and Blood-Queen Lana’thel will not be available since those bosses were already killed, not matter in which mode. This means: those bosses killed in Heroic mode will not be spawned in Normal mode, and vice-versa.

New content and attunements.

We would like to explain few things regarding the new content release, this announcement will cover how things are going to be released and which attunements are needed.

First of all, since we are an eternal progressive server and we want to provide the opportunity to all the players to enjoy each tier no matter when they join, only those who have cleared the current top tier will be able to play the new content. We will cover the specific restrictions to unlock it with a simple scheme.

What will be released this Saturday 27th?

  • Icecrown Citadel 10 and 25 modes with all bosses available on their pre-nerf status.
  • Icecrown Citadel 10 heroic and 25 heroic modes with all bosses available on their pre-nerf status.
  • None of the difficulties will have available the Strength of Wrynn / Hellscream’s Warsong buffs.
  • Forge of Souls, Pit of Saron and Halls of Reflection (Normal and Heroic), along with their respective quests.
  •  The new emblem system.

What content will be released later?

  •  Toravon the Ice Watcher, inside Vault of Archavon will be released a few weeks after.
  • The new set of weekly quests in Dalaran “… Must Die!” will be available alongside with Toravon.

What are the required attunements?

  • Icecrown Citadel 10 normal will require Trial of the Crusader 10.
  • Icecrown Citadel 25 normal will require Trial of the Crusader 25.
  •  Icecrown Citadel 10 Heroic will require The Fall of the Lich King (10 player) achievement.
  •  Icecrown Citadel 25 Heroic will require The Fall of the Lich King (25 player) achievement.
  •  Forge of Souls, Pit of Saron and Halls of Reflection will require Trial of the Crusader 10 or 25, as well as the Frozen Halls chain quest.
  •  Toravon the Ice Watcher 10 will require Trial of the Crusader 10.
  •  Toravon the Ice Watcher 25 will require Trial of the Crusader 25.
  • The new set of weekly quests in Dalaran will require Trial of the Crusader 10 or 25.

Further posts about the ID sharing system between the Icecrown Citadel Normal and Heroic difficulties, the personalised emblem system based on each player’s individual progression, and information about general improvements will be announced during these next days.

Icecrown Citadel official release date.

Hello Citizens of Dalaran,

We are glad to finally be able to provide the official release date of The Icecrown Citadel: Saturday, 27th May.

Because this patch’s content is quite extense and it involves many important matters, we have decided to progressively announce several informative posts before the release, so the community is properly informed and every possible question that may arise is answered. We will try to fully cover things such as:

-How everything will be released.
-What content will be included in this patch.
-Attunements and restrictions.
-Emblem system.
-Arena season.
-General information, fixes and updates.

We would like to thank everyone who has collaborated on the Beta test sessions, we have received a massive participation. From individuals who have demonstrated a lot of effort and passion, through guilds from the same faction that have organized and synchronized between themselves to fully check every single detail of the raid while providing very professional reports, to those loyal groups and players who have participated on every of our Betas.

Special thanks to those critical and strict players who have helped us by pointing every little detail they found, because thanks to this, we believe we have achieved great and polished results.

It has been a long waiting but, we truly hope it was worth it because we are absolutely sure the community will enjoy this content on which we have worked so hard and tested so thoroughly.

The Winds of Winter – Betas and Development

Hello citizens of Dalaran,

“Can you feel it? Closing in all around you.. The light’s justice has been awakened, the sins of the past have finally caught up to you.”

With that sentence, we want to bring you all exciting news. To start off, we have been working hard to be able to schedule the multiple Beta sessions for the Pit of Saron, Forge of Souls, Halls of Reflection 5 man dungeons, and the raid on Icecrown Citadel itself. Along with these, the two important quests chains; Shadowmourne and Quel’Delar, will be released and will also be able to be tested during the beta.

The procedure you will have to follow in order to participate in this closed Beta session shall be announced by us on our forums and social media. Because the process will be more complex this time around, we will make several posts about it in order to explain in detail how and who can participate in them. We will require full raid groups, party groups, and exceptional individuals for the different testing sessions. We are notifying this beforehand for the players that have gotten a bit inactive while they have been waiting for the Lich King, so they too get aware and can participate in the Beta testing.

Secondly, we want to announce the continuation of the Changelogs. Due to several changes made in the Staff group during the summer vacations, we are once again opening our doors to hire developers, and incorporate them to replace the absences that happened since August. We want to push the work that needs to be done even harder. In addition, we want to remind all the excellent players that have been making amazing bug reports on the bugtracker, that they can collaborate with Dalaran-WoW as official testers.

Furthermore, the Game Master recruitment is still open. Thanks to Morens, Impreza and Lantri, that have settled nicely in the team, the incorporation of new Game Masters that want to help and resolve in-game issues will be easier. There are many whelps waiting for a new parent, do not hesitate to ask them to take a deep breath every once in a while, we promise it will not hurt as much as her beloved mother’s breath.

We are really excited to announce that in order to speed up the process of fixing issues and improve our current content even more, we have decided to expand our development team.

It has been a long, enjoyable journey with a lot of hard work, including every single past update and the upcoming releases. But the time when a single man can’t keep carrying all the weight has come.

We are looking to hire 4 specific profiles. Regardless of which one you are applying for, we expect you to fulfill the following requirements:

– Must be over the age of 18.
– 1+ year of experience working with the technologies your role requires.
– Experience with version control systems (Git is preferred).
– Experience working with TrinityCore.
– Experience contributing to private servers.
– Commitment and passion for World of Warcraft, as well as extensive knowledge about the game environment, content and general gameplay (WotLK and previous expansions).
– Loyalty, hard work and full commitment for the project.
– Capacity for learning and willingness to do so.
– Ability to speak and write in English.
– Ability to foresee and solve problems, capacity for analysis.
– Ability to work under minimal supervision or independently, willing to take initiative when needed.
– Ability to work in a team environment.
– Academic qualifications and university degrees in Computer Science or similar are a big plus.
– Exceptional applicants without previous experience in the private server scene, will be considered.

DATABASE DEVELOPER;

> RESPONSIBILITIES:
– Fix, improve or script from scratch: quests, game objects, NPCs and world events across the world (priority: Northrend).

> REQUIREMENTS:
– Strong SQL programming skills.
– Vast experience working with TrinityCore SmartAI.
– Extensive knowledge about the game and accuracy with details.

C++ AND SQL DEVELOPER (Class spells and PvP);

> RESPONSIBILITIES:
– Fix and improve general class and spells (top priority).
– Fix and improve general PvP content, such as battlegrounds and arenas.

C++ AND SQL DEVELOPERr (Dungeons and raids);

> RESPONSIBILITIES:
– Fix and improve (or rewrite, if needed) all dungeons and raids, except Level 80 raids (priority: Northrend).

> REQUIREMENTS FOR C++ AND SQL DEVELOPERS:
– Strong C++ and SQL programming skills.
– Vast experience working with TrinityCore.
– Extensive knowledge about the game and accuracy with details.

SERVER PERFORMANCE AND CORE OPTIMIZATION;

> RESPONSIBILITIES:
– Optimize and rewrite core systems, in order to improve general server performance and stability.
– Tweak and tune up the server environment when needed.

> REQUIREMENTS:
– Strong C++ and SQL programming skills.
– Extensive knowledge and good understanding of World of Warcraft emulation environment.
– Researching experience, being able to identify and resolve performance issues in TrinityCore servers.

Onyxia’s Lair release date.

Hello citizens of Dalaran,

We are really glad to announce the release of Onyxia’s Lair, which will happen on Friday, May 13th at 17:00 Server Time.

The dreaded brood mother of the black dragonflight Onyxia has come to the forefront of Azeroth, and she awaits you lurking inside of her lair. Be careful heroes, because if you get in her line of sight, she will shatter the ground making the lava rise to hurt her enemies and protect her brood. Only those prepared to face the Trial of the Crusader or Grand Crusader challenges, will be allowed to face this new threat (this means that every player must have earned the Secrets of Ulduar achievement in order to face Onyxia).

To celebrate the release, available only for a limited time, everyone will be able to purchase the Onyxia Brood Whelpling from the shop for only 1 vote/donation point.

As many of you already know, Onyxia’s release has an important role in being able to complete the following quest chain: The Scepter of the Shifting Sands, which rewards a legendary mount and the title ‘Scarab Lord’. The quest ‘Bang a Gong’ will not trigger the War Effort event, since the Gates of Ahn’Qiraj are just being re-opened and not opened for the first time. The quest will cease to be available 10 hours after it is first completed on the realm. Once the first player starts it, several worldwide announcements will take place.

Currently, we are also preparing an announcement with the beta testing dates for Icecrown Citadel. It will require some heavy testing in raid environments, and it is almost certain that a few sessions will be required – the more people helping us, the better. We are pretty excited about it, as we are aiming to have this raid as perfect and polished as possible with all kind of details, including events and roleplays.
