Recruiting Testers.

support_header (1)

Hello Citizens of Dalaran,

We are excited to announce that we are currently recruiting volunteers in order to help us with the testing tasks.

We are looking for dedicated players with vast experience and knowledge of every aspect of the game, who will have access to our PTR and will help us test the new fixes before they get applied to the live realm. The testers will need to pay attention for small details, and write accurate reports in case it is required.

If you are interested write us an e-mail to: dalaran.recruitment@gmail.com with the following format:

Subject: Testers recruitment – Name of your Algalon’s main character.

Content: Explain us your knowledge and experience with the game, as well as your preference (if any) in case you would like to just focus in a single aspect of the game such as quests or spells.

Thank you very much.

Step forward.

Hello there,

As you might be aware, we have been performing more maintenances than the usual lately. Most of the changes and fixes that have been deployed are related to exploits that were spread across the community and some important spells, quests and dungeon fixes that were reported a while ago. The main reason of them, though, is to improve the performance of the server itself and to provide an improved quality to all the players before the incoming releases of Onyxia’s Lair and Icecrown Citadel.

The changes have been tested thoroughly but they are pretty delicate, so I will be prepared to deal with any unforeseen instability issue that may arise. By performing the changes one by one, we make sure to be able to find the source of the problem and to fix it pretty quick, in case it is required. Some known crashes that were affecting the server for the last few months have been fixed. As soon as a new one appears, we investigate it and deploy a fix for it as soon as possible. There could also be the case where a very unlikely crash happens a couple of times in a short period of time, but that does not mean that there are more crashes than the week before, it is basically bad timing, if we can call it that. We seek with perseverance stability and good performance.

We would like to thank you all for the patience you are having and we would also like to ask you to refrain from spreading rumors or false information about what is happening, since it will just mislead players.

We are going to drastically reduce the prices of the faction change for some time (Horde -> Alliance), with the intention of bringing a bit more of balance to the factions. Just for now, the transfers from the Alliance to the Horde shall be closed. This change will be active between today and tomorrow.

New prices for Horde characters:

  • 20 Vote Points.
  • 1 Donation Point.

During this week, I am planning to announce the Onyxia’s Lair Beta testing (most likely tomorrow) in the news and announcements section of the forums as well as in our Social Media, so that everyone becomes aware of it.

It may seem we are not going very fast, but our steps are steady. Thank you very much.

A minor update

Hello community,

As you probably have already noticed, almost every day we are performing a maintenance in order to deploy several fixes, exploit corrections and other preparations before the incoming ToC release.

We are trying to perform them during the off-peak times with the minimal shutdown time as we can. We are also announcing them through our social media (Facebook and Twitter) and within 15-30 minutes in advance in the live realm, so everyone can stay tuned about what is going on.

We are sorry for the inconveniences it may cause.

Cheers!

Recovering the planned schedule:

Greetings,

The major instability issues that have been occurring over the past few weeks seem to have been corrected and we can return to our planned schedule. That means that some of the fixes that were reverted during the daily maintenances will be re-deployed and we can continue improving the server.

We are also working on several things that will help us keep you notified more easily regarding the updates and new content in the months to come.

In regard to Legends of Dalaran Tournament: Ulduar rewards and the Beta ToC invitations, please stay tuned – we will publish the results and grant the rewards, as well as contact you via the email addresses provided before announcing the final date.

Unfortunately, the unexpected issues made the last few weeks quite chaotic for us. As you may know, we are a small team and much of the planned work had to be postponed to identify and root out the problem. We offer our sincere gratitude for the patience, support and trust you have shown us – it has certainly helped us work harder and get it done faster. With work back on schedule, the rest of the announcements and fixes will come during the following days.

Thank you again.

If you can not connect since the last maintenance, read this.

Hello Citizens of Dalaran,

After the latest changes, some players may experience difficulties to log in. If this is your case, just go to your World of Warcraft folder, then enter into the WTF folder and delete the file named: “Config.wtf”.

Now, you should be fine and able to log in again.

Thank you very much and sorry for the inconveniences.
